During a lactation consultation, you’re not just learning science and rules. You’re getting a holistic approach that takes your entire situation into account. Not only will you get help with any breastfeeding challenges you may be facing, you’ll also get support to make breastfeeding work for your specific situation. Insurance & Discounts
We partner with Lactation Network to obtain insurance coverage for lactation services. If you have an Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana or United insurance plan, your lactation consult may be covered at no out of pocket cost to you! Simply visit Lactation Network and complete their brief, online form–they’ll handle the paperwork and bill your insurance directly.
The Affordable Care Act stipulates that most insurance plans are required to reimburse you for your out-of-pocket expenses for breastfeeding support. If you don’t qualify for upfront coverage, I’ll provide you with the documentation that you need to submit for reimbursement. I highly recommend the resources in the National Women’s Law Center Toolkit, available for download here.

Home Visit
A full evaluation of you and your baby, with a feeding observation, physical exam, assessment, counseling, and education in the comfort of your home. You will receive a care plan and your pediatrician will receive a report. The fee includes two weeks of remote follow up support. Superbill will be provided to submit for insurance reimbursement. 2-Hour Appointment. Investment: $260.
(If outside 30-minute travel time from Boulder, please add $30.)
Office Visit
Same service and remote follow-up as the home visit, but if you’re outside my service area or simply prefer to meet outside your home, I’ll consult with you at The Joy Collective in downtown Boulder. Superbill will be provided to submit for insurance reimbursement. 2-Hour Appointment. Investment: $220.
Telehealth Consult
Remote support that includes secure video conferencing that allows evaluation, feeding observation, assessment, counseling, and education. You will receive a care plan and your pediatrician will receive a report. The fee includes two weeks of continued remote follow up support. Superbill will be provided to submit for insurance reimbursement. 90-Minute Appointment. Investment: $185 Initial; $145 Follow-Up.
Individual Pre-Natal/Pre-Adoption, Inducing Lactation, and Return to Work Consults
If you’re pregnant or planning to adopt, a personalized pre-natal consult is a great way to set up your family for breastfeeding success. Have questions about returning to work and continuing to provide all the breastmilk your baby needs? Schedule an individualized return to work consult to create a customized plan that meets your and your employer’s needs. Superbill will be provided to submit to insurance for reimbursement. 90-Minute Appointment. Investment: $175.
Phone Consult
For initial consultations or follow-up appointments that do not require examination of the breastfeeding parent and baby (at the discretion of the IBCLC). Superbill will be provided to submit for insurance reimbursement. Investment: $125/hour; billable in 15 minute increments.
Follow-Up Appointments
For current clients only. Includes another home or clinic visit or two additional weeks of remote support by phone, text and email if further follow up is desired. Superbill will be provided to submit for insurance reimbursement. 75-Minute Appointment. Investment: $200 (Home Visit)/$175 (Office Visit). Continued Remote Support by Phone/Text/Email. Investment: $95.
